MAVO, is based on the advanced color processing architecture and whole new S35 CMOS imaging sensor to achieve super low-noise, wide dynamic range. S35 3:2 format: Classic and Flexible
MAVO is equipped with the whole-new S35 3:2 CMOS image sensor with effective sensor size as 24x16mm, resolution up to 6K+, 6016×3984 and even up to 24 million pixels at open gate. S35 format, a classic film size for shooting movies, works with varieties of S35 cine lenses, as well as a large number of APS-C or full-frame still camera lenses. Compared to HD 16:9 or DCI 17:9 S35, 3:2 aspect ratio is very suitable for anamorphic shooting. MAVO might be the best S35 cinema camera for anamorphic shooting with super image quality, two S35 anamorphic modes: 4:3 mode 5.3K or 6:5 mode 4.9K (at this time, height of CMOS image sensor is 16mm). No matter the mainstream S35 A2x lenses, or 1.33x lenses, it is easy to get super cinematic images.
Lower Noise, High Frame Rate
The new S35 CMOS sensor benefits from advanced CMOS image sensor process, not only gaining dynamic range more than 14 stops, but also lower the noise of image, roughly half of TERRA 6K noise so that gaining higher sensitivity. Although base ISO is 800, the noise is still very low with 1600, 2560 and 3200 ISO. If the 4K or 2K resolution is output by oversampling, the ISO can work up to higher and image output is still crispy and clean. The frame rate is up to 66fps at S35 6K Wide, up to 100fps at M43 4K Wide and up to 192fps at 2K Wide. These high-speed images are exactly same with the normal frame rate. In addition, it has in-camera over-sampling, so that under the S35 format, a super high quality 4K images can be recorded up to ProRes4444XQ.
Super Lightweight: One-man Job
Even though MAVO adopts 6K+ image record and whole new low noise and high speed CMOS image sensor, weight of camera body is only 990g; its size is only half or third of other MINI cinema cameras. Due to its small form factor close to DSLR, MAVO works well with most of Gimbals, and also lowers the requirements on accessories: so lightweight for handheld operation and for one-man job. With new-designed SideGrip and 5″ fullHD KineMON, MAVO is ready for shooting. MAVO can work up to 60-100min with its lightweight GripBAT (compatible with BP-U30).
Super-Fast Post Workflow: ProRes or cDNG
MAVO records up to 4K ProRes4444XQ even 6K ProRes4444 directly to get a super-fast workflow with very high quality footages: Apple ProRes is much better than codecs based on H264, and compatible with all post-workflow softwares. It also records compressed RAW as cDNG without external recorder. cDNG returns again in the form of an adjustable compression ratio. Current firmware supports three different compression ratios, 3:1, 5:1 and 7:1 respectively and all of them can get super image quality and enough room for grading. Davinci Resolve supports cDNG natively so that the RAW footage can be directly imported, edited and graded in DaVinci Resolve, simplifying the RAW workflow greatly.
